Biography
Uta Kossatz-Boehlert has her expertise in the analysis of chemotherapy resistance of tumor-initiating cells with stem cell characteristics. They are further establishing new technologies (CyTOF) to deeply characterize the phenotypic characteristics of these cells. The search of the new tumorigenic markers in demarcation from non-tumorigenic cells with the same stem cell marker expression is additionally supported by usage of aptamere technology. These translational approaches aim to deeply characterize tumor-initiating cells with stem cell characteristics on phenotypic and molecular level and to better understand the heterogenetic traits of these cells.
