Biography
Mark Maloney received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1988. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Microbiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario. He currently serves as Professor and Vice Chair of Biology at Spelman College having joined the Biology Department in 1994.
Research Interest
His research interests include the role of globotriaosyl ceramide (Gb3 or CD77) as Shiga toxin receptor and the roles of glycolipid-protein interaction in functions of germinal center stage B cells and Burkitt’s lymphoma cells.
